The Warco WM-18 milling machine is infinitely variable from 50-2,250 RPM. It features a dovetail column slide for positive head location during elevation and descent. There are tapered gibs to all slideways, and there's a digital depth gauge to quill (metric./imperial/zero). Back gear ensures maximum torque in low speed range, and there are locks to the head, column and slideways.
Reviewed in Model Engineer Workshop Issue No. 153, David Fenner said this about the WM-18:
"I rate this as a very competent machine. I was pleasantly surprised at the lack of mechanical spline noise ... also the near absence of gear noise."
A precision spindle is supported on taper roller bearings, and head tilting is plus or minus 90 degrees. There's a rack and pinion drilling action, reversible motor and interlock chuck guard.
An individual accuracy test report is provided with each of these quality metal milling machines. Standard equipment includes 13mm chuck and arbor and drawbar 3/8" Whitworth.
