The GH1440 metalworking lathe comes with a wealth of features as standard. There's the hardened and ground gears to headstock and gearbox to ensure long term reliable performance and extremely quiet operation. And a removable gap bed ensures maximum capacity - it's also dowelled for accurate relocation. There's an induction hardened and ground vee bed with deep/wide casting and precision ground D1-4 spindle supported on taper roller bearings.

These metal lathes have an extremely effective foot operated spindle brake - which will immediately brake from the highest speed of 2,000 RPM. In an emergency situation, the brake will also disconnect the electrical drive.

Then there's the safe low voltage controls with overload cut out, and emergency electric cut out switch. The electrical components are quality European items throughout, by Siemens or Telemachinique. The lathes also have an offset tailstock facility, slide out coolant/chip tray, overload clutch to saddle feed shaft, a jogging button to assist chuck rotation throughout the speed range, whilst each lathe comes with an individual accuracy test report. Finally, the GH1440 has an independent feed shaft to saddle for longitudinal and cross feed, adjustable gibs to top slide and cross slide and interlock chuck guard and gear train cover.

The GH1440 metal lathe includes a range of standard equipment, comprising: 150mm 3 Jaw chuck with inside/outside jaws, 200mm 4 Jaw independent chuck, 300mm faceplate, 4 way indexing tool post, fixed and travelling steadies, micro adjustable bed stop, coolant system, halogen low voltage light, dead centres and cabinet stand.
